Inundation.

That title word perfectly describes this week. I’m almost terrified thinking of how much I truly have to accomplish in a few short days. This is the first such week since I’ve started graduate school where I’ve felt entirely overwhelmed between classwork and my three jobs — not to mention overlooked housework. But my options are few, so it’s time to buckle down and get shit done.

  • Write three articles for the Tribune — One each for the Wednesday, Friday and Sunday editions (which means afternoon deadlines on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). Still need several comments for one of them, and another is based on a meeting I’ll attend tomorrow.
  • School board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday that will last ’til at least 8/8:30 p.m.
  • Class tonight and Wednesday night, 6-9 p.m.
  • Working my day job all week (except Thursday, but my Thursday was bumped to Friday, which I normally have off).
  • Working the restaurant Friday and Saturday nights.
  • Three reading assignments and a related homework assignment for Wednesday’s class.
  • Laundry, lots of laundry.
  • Unpack from my weekend in Scranton.
  • CLEAN LIKE WHOA.
  • Starting homework for next week by/on Thursday.
  • Introduction, at least two pages, due for Wednesday night’s class.

And none of this takes into consideration my commute to/from work and class — approximately 45 minutes — plus sleep, eating, dressing and showering, etc. etc. Typing the list out doesn’t seem quite so daunting as it was beforehand, but it’s going to take a great deal of planning to ensure each bullet-item is successfully crossed off.

Yet here I sit, procrastinating and typing a blog posting. Go figure.
