Tuneage Tuesday – "Alive With The Glory of Love"

by Mindy on March 2, 2010

Honestly, I can’t believe I waited this far into my “Tuneage Tuesday” series to bring forth the awesomeness known as Say Anything. After all, I practically risked life and limb for these guys a few years ago … and by that I mean my 5′1″ self was nearly trampled in the mosh pit at Bamboozle in 2007 because I absolutely insisted on getting as close to the stage as possible, especially for this particular song.

You might already know these guys from a song they released called, “Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too,” but that hit doesn’t truly capture how amazing this band is. Actually, if you ask me, “Sexual” was more of a “let’s get on the radio” gimmick than anything else, but that’s besides the point. Check out the tune below and let me know what you think. These guys are seriously one of my favorites. Definitely in the top 5.

The song is often called an “intense and oddly uplifting rocker about a relationship torn by the Holocaust” and is somewhat based on the lead singer’s own grandparents who survived through that horrific time in history. I hope you already listened to the song before reading this – doubtful though - because I’d hate to sway the way in which you heard the lyrics, but I thought this tidbit was both pretty deep and damn interesting.

I LOVE Say Anything. I think I’ve seen them 3 times in concert now, and we’re actually using “Alive With the Glory of Love” as our entrance song for our wedding reception!

I can’t believe you survived the craziness at Bamboozle! I’d always heard about it but chose to stay far away from it because crowds? they scare me.

p.s. should we be expecting a blog title change due to your recent move?

Ahhh, I *loved* Bamboozle. It was definitely crazy and jam-packed, but so much fun. Plus a ton of great music, of course. I’ve wanted to go back again, but the bands just haven’t been worth how much it’d cost me in travel expenses. The ‘07 lineup was worth the cash though.

And I’m still up in the air about a blog title change. I love the name, but I don’t live in MoTown now, so maybe… I can’t decide!
